Their Story
Remy first texted me in June 2023 with a question about microphones. Her aunts and uncles wanted to sing at the wedding, a group of about nine, so that July we added four extra microphones for them. Her aunt Rose worked out the live music with me, and she and the singers came up early on the day to test everything.

Remy and Tom married on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 at Valhalla, the old estate on the shore of Lake Tahoe in South Lake Tahoe. Their coordinator was Bri of Married Poppins, who I had worked with just a few weeks before.

The ceremony was unplugged. Before it began I played the music the family picked, from Canon in D by Pachelbel to island favorites and Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Remy's cousin Derek opened the processional live on guitar, and then Remy came down the aisle to Yellow by Brooklyn Duo. The family sang a Hawaiian love song with a lei during the ceremony, and Rose played them out live on the piano.

After cocktail hour I brought in the wedding party and then Remy and Tom to Sirius by The Alan Parsons Project. Over dinner the toasts came from Tom's best man, Jack Aylward, and Remy's maid of honor, Laeni.

The first dance was Can't Help Falling in Love, sung live by Remy's uncles. Remy danced with her dad, Arnie, to My Girl, played live by the Locsin Brothers, and Tom danced with his mom, Dorine, to Always by Patsy Cline. After the sunset photos on the lake they cut the cake, and every married couple came out for an anniversary dance to I Don't Dance by Lee Brice.

Then the open dancing started with September by Earth, Wind & Fire, and Remy tossed her bouquet to Single Ladies by Beyoncé. From there the floor stayed full, from Macarena and Dancing Queen to Uptown Funk and Danza Kuduro, and the last song of the night was Shake That Monkey by Too Short.

That night Rose texted me her review, and the next day she wrote that I nailed it. Emma Peyton of Peyton Photos photographed the day. Thank you, Remy and Tom, for having me at Valhalla.
