Ali & Robert

Ali and Robert filled out my contact form in November 2022, and we talked on the phone a week later. Their wedding was at Winters Creek Lodge on Mt Rose, in June, with snow still on the runs and Washoe Lake far below. They asked for EDM, pop, rock, the 2000s and the 90s.

Guests found their seats outside the lodge to How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) by James Taylor, The Girl From Ipanema by Stan Getz and João Gilberto and Fever by Peggy Lee.

There was no wedding party. Robert and the parents walked in to I'm Yours by Jason Mraz, and then two friends came down the aisle with baskets of beer for the guests to Pretty Girls Walk by Big Boss Vette. Robert got his beer at the front.

Ali walked in to Remedy by Alesso. They had their first kiss under a huge blue sky and walked back up the aisle to Better Than This by John Summit and Parachute Youth, then Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles.

Cocktail hour and dinner went country and classic: Homegrown by Zac Brown Band, Life Is A Highway by Rascal Flatts, I Walk The Line by Johnny Cash and Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton.

Ali and Robert made their grand entrance to Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO and had their first dance to Midnight by Alesso and Liam Payne. Then Robert danced with his mom to Don't Blink by Kenny Chesney.

The dance floor opened with Macarena by Los Del Rio and Wobble by V.I.C., and the country crowd got Copperhead Road by Steve Earle and Boot Scootin' Boogie by Brooks and Dunn. Then came Cha Cha Slide by DJ Casper and Low by Flo Rida, a shot ski went around, and Ali and Robert ended up in a dance off.

Jeramie took them up the ridge for sunset photos beside a windswept pine. Back inside, the late set had Mr. Brightside by The Killers, All The Small Things by blink 182, Jump Around by House Of Pain and Shots by LMFAO, and the last song of the night was Hey Ya! by OutKast.

Ali and Robert were a super chill couple, and Ali wrote afterward that I nailed their music. Jeramie Lu Photography captured the whole day. Thank you, Ali and Robert, for having me at Winters Creek.
