Montse & Jason

Jason first emailed me in October 2021. Their venue was the Tannenbaum Event Center, and he asked whether any of my DJs were bilingual. They aren't, so I told him the truth, and that I have plenty of bachata, cumbia, norteño, salsa, reggaeton and merengue ready to go. We talked on the phone a week later, and afterward Montse and Jason wrote that my enthusiasm and experience really made an impression on them. They booked me that November.

Their wedding was on a Sunday in July 2022. 4JOY media photographed the day, starting with Montse in her ball gown and tiara and her bridesmaids in red, and a first look out on the road under the pines.

The ceremony was on the lawn with the valley behind them. The wedding party walked in to All of Me by John Legend, Montse came down the aisle to A Thousand Years by The Piano Guys, and after their first kiss under the arch they walked back up the aisle to Love on Top by Beyoncé.

The wedding party danced into the reception to Crazy in Love by Beyoncé, and Montse and Jason made their grand entrance to Forever by Chris Brown. Montse's grandmother gave the blessing before dinner.

A couple of weeks before the wedding they sent me their own edit of Un Beso for the first dance, then a slightly slower version, and asked me to wait until they were in the middle of the floor before starting it. Then they cut the cake to Favorito by Camilo.

Montse danced with her mom to Mi Primer Amor by Pesado, and Jason danced with his mom to Because You Loved Me by Céline Dion. Then everyone joined in for an anniversary dance to Stand By Me by Ben E. King, and the dollar dance went to Boogie Shoes by KC and The Sunshine Band and Como Me Duele by Valentín Elizalde.

Then the dance floor took over: La Chona by Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Payaso de Rodeo by Caballo Dorado, Danza Kuduro by Don Omar, Amor Prohibido by Selena, Bidi Bidi Bom Bom by Selena, Gasolina by Daddy Yankee and Cupid Shuffle by Cupid. At one point their friends lifted Montse up in a chair over the crowd.

We closed the night with Give Me Everything by Pitbull, and the guests sent them off with a cheer at the door.
