Autumn & Peter’s Reno Wedding

Autumn and Peter got married at the Tannenbaum Event Center, and that venue has a special place in my heart. It sits halfway up the Mt. Rose Highway, where I learned to ski when I was 2.

Autumn found me on Google in November 2024, and soon after, the three of us met for coffee at Hub Coffee Roasters by the river in Reno. I walked away thinking how nice they both were, and I love working with nice people.

Their wedding was on a Thursday in September. Before the ceremony, Autumn and Peter had their first look out in the pines, and The Holtes caught the hugs, the laughs, and a tear or two from Peter.

A week out, the forecast showed a chance of rain, and Autumn and Peter still wanted their ceremony outside. Autumn brought an easy up for my gear, and they said their vows on the lawn under the floral arch with the pines and the valley behind them. Autumn came down the aisle to an acoustic version of You're Still the One, and they walked back up it to This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole.

Two days before the wedding I texted Autumn that I loved their grand entrance song, 10 out of 10, and I meant it. They walked into the reception to ABBA, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) while their guests waved napkins, and Autumn twirled her way between the tables.

Next came the toasts, with the whole room raising a glass under the string lights, and they cut the cake to Happy Together by The Turtles.

Their first dance was a remix of Lover by Taylor Swift, and the father daughter dance was The Best Day, also by Taylor Swift. Autumn's dad remixed and cut both of those versions himself, which made those dances really personal. Peter and his mom danced the mother son dance to Hallelujah by Vitamin String Quartet.

Then ABBA, Dancing Queen opened the dance floor. Autumn and Peter asked for no slow songs once the dancing started, and they even skipped the table dash to save more time for open dancing, so I kept it moving with pop, 2000s, and 80s hits. The glow sticks came out, the lasers came on, and Autumn was right in the middle of it, singing along with her arm in the air. In her review, Autumn said the music "kept the dance floor full all night."

For the last dance, Autumn picked Buddy by Willie Nelson as a surprise for Peter. Then their guests sent them off down the steps through a cloud of bubbles.
