Their Story

Ally planned almost all of her wedding herself, and she told me the DJ was one of the parts that mattered most to her. We went through the music together until every list was hers: rock, hip hop, rap and pop for the party, and a short do not play list with no Taylor Swift, no Bruno Mars and no line dances.

They got married at Montreux Golf and Country Club in Reno, with the ceremony out on the fairway facing the mountains and the reception in a tent by the pines. Their colors were green and white, and Photos by Laila photographed the day.

The ceremony was unplugged, so the phones went away. The wedding party walked in to Somebody To Love by Queen, and Ally came down the aisle to Make It To Me by Sam Smith.

After the kiss they came back up the aisle to a violin version of Best I Ever Had by Ana Done, Ally holding her roses up high and Drew pumping his fist, with their guests on their feet and glasses in the air.

Cocktail hour was on the deck, with old fashioneds at the bar and songs like For Once In My Life by Stevie Wonder, I Love a Rainy Night by Eddie Rabbitt and Island In The Sun by Weezer. Their guests signed a vinyl record for a guest book.

The wedding party danced into the tent to Good Life by Kanye West, and I introduced Mr. and Mrs. Miller to This Will Be by Toners, straight into their first dance, It Takes A Woman by Chris Stapleton. Dinner was The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra, Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison and How Sweet It Is by James Taylor.

Ally danced with her dad, Steve, to (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding, and Drew danced with his mom, Kim, to My Wish by Rascal Flatts.

After the speeches, Ally and Drew gave a toast of their own to thank everyone, and it went right into the Thunderstruck by AC/DC drinking game. Brandy is Ally's favorite song, so Brandy (You're a Fine Girl) by Looking Glass was the first song once the dance floor opened. From there it was Rich Girl by Lake Street Dive, Life in the Fast Lane by Eagles, I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston, Sugar, We're Goin Down by Fall Out Boy and Wake Me Up by Avicii, and at some point Drew ended up in a captain's hat.

The last dance was their pick, Death of a Bachelor by Panic! At The Disco. Thank you, Ally and Drew, for trusting me with your music.

Book DJ Jon! I just got married and I did basically all the wedding planning myself. The DJ was very important to me because as we know music can really make or break a party. DJ Jon was perfect! He made the planning so easy, and checked in to make sure everything was going smoothly. Every song I wanted to get played got played and every song we didn’t want did not get played. He let me have as much control of the music as I wanted and not all wedding DJs are like that. We had so much fun and multiple wedding guests complimented how much fun DJ Jon made our wedding. Brides that are doing your planning, look no further! This is your wedding DJ!!!

“DJ Jon was great! He made sure we had the exact party that we wanted. I have been to weddings where the guests know what the party needs but the DJ just doesn’t deliver. DJ Jon not only knows how to have a party but is willing to involve you in exactly the party you want! Guests are still raving about how much fun our night was! Book and you will not be disappointed.”
