Their Story
Alexanne and Tim got married on a Saturday in May 2018 at Inspire in downtown Reno, in the Riverwalk District. Inspire isn't around anymore, so I'm extra grateful that Lou Manna captured the day the way he did. There were red roses everywhere: in a garland across the fireplace mantel, in glass vases by the sunny windows, and in Alexanne's bouquet, right up against her royal blue gown.

As guests arrived, I kept it soft and romantic with Marry Me by Train, Sway by Peter Cincotti and Inseparable by Natalie Cole, plus classical pieces like Canon in D by Pachelbel and Spring by Vivaldi.

The processional was Can You Feel The Love Tonight by Elton John, and the ceremony happened right in front of that rose covered fireplace. It was full of laughter. Alexanne kept cracking up next to a grinning Tim, and at one point every guest in the room raised a hand toward the two of them. Then Tim slid the ring onto her finger, and they walked back up the aisle hand in hand while everyone clapped. I'll never forget how everyone started singing the lyrics to Chapel of Love by The Dixie Cups.

Then the champagne came out. Friends gave toasts that had both of them laughing, Alexanne took the microphone herself, and the two of them raised their glasses high.

Dinner had a little Disney in it too, with Colors of the Wind by Vanessa Williams, next to Cinderella Beautiful by Peter Cincotti, Daughters by John Mayer and I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz.
Their first dance was When I Said I Do by Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black, followed by Something That We Do by Clint Black and You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban. Alexanne's blue gown swept across the wood floor while everyone watched from their seats.

Then we opened up the dance floor and the karaoke mic: Footloose by Kenny Loggins, At Last by Etta James, a long run of Michael Bublé, then Dancing Queen by ABBA, Electric Boogie by Marcia Griffiths, Love Shack by The B-52's and Celebration by Kool & The Gang.

Somewhere in the middle of all that dancing, they cut the chocolate cake.

We closed the night with Circle of Life by Elton John. The Lion King opened their ceremony and closed their party, and I still love that. Even after the last dance, we squeezed in Single Ladies by Beyoncé and Marry You by Bruno Mars.

Thank you, Alexanne and Tim, for letting me be part of your day.
