The Story

Renown Health’s pediatric unit had me DJ their Christmas party at the Atlantis Casino in Reno, on a Friday night in December. I set up in Grand Rooms 1 to 3 that afternoon, at the edge of a dark dance floor under the chandeliers, with a Christmas tree in the back corner. Guests came in at 6 for dinner.

The theme was Christmas Sparkle, and the dance floor looked it: sequins, velvet and party dresses from about 8 on. A young DJ in a Santa hat and light up shoes took a turn on the controller beside my decks and played for a full floor, and the dancing kept going until 10.
