Their Story

Rachel Mann, the events director at Twenty Mile House, introduced me to Angela and Stephen in August 2020. They lived a long way from Reno, so we planned everything over email and a phone call in early September, and Angela filled out her music sheet the week before the wedding.

Their wedding was on a Sunday in September. The ceremony started at 5 PM out in the pines, with white chairs, wine barrels topped with flowers and a draped wooden arch. The wedding party walked in to Thinking Out Loud by Guitar Tribute Players, Angela came down the aisle to Wanted by Hunter Hayes, and they walked back up the aisle as newlyweds to When I Say I Do by Matthew West.

The reception kicked off with Crazy in Love by Beyoncé. Dinner had The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra, That's Amore by Dean Martin and Love Train by The O'Jays.

They cut the cake to You Make It Easy by Jason Aldean, then shared their first dance to Nobody But You by Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani.

Angela asked for Top 40 and new country, nothing explicit, and one song I had to play. The floor opened with September by Earth, Wind & Fire and Dancing Queen by ABBA, Angela tossed the bouquet to Teenage Dream by Katy Perry, Stephen tossed the garter to SexyBack by Justin Timberlake, and then came her must play: Cupid Shuffle by Cupid. That is the line dance in the video, everyone in front of the house under the string lights.

From there it was Cha Cha Slide by DJ Casper, The Git Up by Blanco Brown, Y.M.C.A. by Village People, Shout by The Isley Brothers and Don't Stop Me Now by Queen, and the last song of the night was Where the Green Grass Grows by Tim McGraw.
