Rachel & Christopher

Rachel and Christopher have to be one of my favorite couples of all time. They are humble, sweet, kind, respectful, and very generous.

I originally met Rachel when I DJ'd her friend Lindsay's wedding at Twenty Mile House in Graeagle, California. After that wedding, she contacted me and asked me if I would be available to DJ her wedding in Carson City the following year.

I happily obliged!

They had a beautiful, intimate wedding at Sunridge Golf and Recreation in Carson City.

It was Saturday, October 1st, 2021. The beautiful fall colors and crisp autumn air set the stage for this intimate wedding in Carson City.

They had delicious Italian food catered, and the dance floor was packed basically all night!

For a couple of Christian families, they were certainly into some heavier electronic dance music, and rap!

I was especially surprised when they requested songs by Krewella and Nate Dogg!

Seeing two Christian families becoming one, while absolutely raging to Krewella and Nate Dogg, is a sight that I will never forget. Note to self: Christians definitely know how to party!

One of my favorite parts of the evening was when the dance floor was full and I dropped the Cupid Shuffle. Any remaining guests who were not on the dance floor already promptly entered and started shuffling to the classic line dance song. I got a great video of this moment. This is exactly why I always recommend that couples allow the classic line dance songs to be played at their wedding. I know they are cheesy. I know they can be overplayed. But at the end of the day, they work. One of the reasons they get played so much at weddings is because they are familiar, and people always like what is familiar to them.

Not only are the classic line dance songs familiar, but they are literally instructions to dance over a beat. They are easy to learn, family friendly, and fun for every age group and demographic of guests.

Plus, I personally love dancing the line dance songs, as they are long enough for me to get out from behind the booth and enjoy some of the fun!

My favorite line dance song of all time is of course the Cha Cha Slide. But they are all good!

One of my favorite people at their wedding was the mother of the bride, Christy. She was so nice, pleasant, and generous, she even tipped me $200 cash. Thank you very much for your generous gratuity, Christy!
