The Story

Haydee found me on Google the day after Christmas. We talked on the phone that afternoon, she booked me before dinner, and five days later I was setting up in her living room for a disco themed New Year’s Eve party she called Disco into 2026.

It was a house party for about 20 to 25 guests. Haydee gave me the big dining table at the back of the living room, so my CDJs went there on a silver sparkle tablecloth, facing the room, well before anyone arrived.

I warmed the room up with disco, She Can’t Love You by Chemise, and her guests came in at 8:00. The dance floor was going from then on. After 9:00 I mixed in a cumbia, En Brujo De Cumbia by Sonido La Conga, and the last half hour of 2025 had Suavemente by Elvis Crespo and Juana La Cubana by Fito Olivares.

By a few minutes after midnight the living room was all fog and lasers, confetti covered the floor, the Christmas tree was still lit in the corner and there were champagne flutes and glow sticks on the tables. I kept the floor going into 2026 with Bloody Mary by Lady Gaga.
