How Much Does a Wedding DJ Cost in Reno? Real Prices

Most wedding vendors make you fill out a form, sit through a sales call, and then find out the price. I publish mine. So here's the straight answer, followed by what actually moves the number, so you can compare any Reno DJ intelligently, not just me.

The Straight Answer

My wedding packages are published on my pricing page, and they run:

Silver: $2,200. The essential reception package: 5 hours of performance, professional sound, wireless microphones, and dance floor lighting for up to 60 guests at any venue within an hour of Reno.
Gold: $3,500. The one most couples choose. Seven hours covering both ceremony and reception for up to 100 guests at venues within two hours of Reno. Premium QSC sound with a 3,000-watt subwoofer, premium lighting, a separate discrete sound system for the ceremony, a wireless lapel mic for your officiant, an in-person planning meeting, the Shoe Game, and unlimited requests.
Diamond: $5,100. The full production: 8 hours covering the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception, for up to 300+ guests at venues within three hours of Reno.

What Actually Drives the Price

When you're comparing quotes (mine included), four things move the number:

Hours and events covered. A reception-only DJ is one setup. Ceremony + reception is two sound systems in two locations, coordinated to the minute. Add a rehearsal dinner and it's a third event. That's the real difference between the $2,200 and $5,100 ends of my range.

Guest count. Sixty guests and three hundred guests need very different amounts of sound. Underpowered speakers running at their limit all night is how you get distortion instead of dancing.

Ceremony sound. Vows are the entire reason everyone came. A discrete ceremony system with a lapel mic on the officiant means your guests actually hear them, and there's no speaker tower in your ceremony photos.

Travel. Reno, Tahoe, Graeagle, and Carson City have beautiful venues and real drive times. My packages build in travel radius (one, two, or three hours from Reno) instead of surprising you with fees later. I've DJ'd everywhere from Twenty Mile House in Graeagle to The Club at Rancharrah right here in town.

Where Couples Get Burned

I'll say the quiet part: you can find someone with a speaker and a laptop for a few hundred dollars. Sometimes it works out. But a wedding has no do-over, and the horror stories all rhyme: an empty dance floor because nobody was reading the room, cringey announcements, or a dead mixer at 8pm with no backup in the van.

Whatever your budget, ask every DJ you interview these three questions: What happens if your equipment fails mid-reception? Who exactly will be performing at my wedding? Can I see a real wedding you've done, not a promo reel?
